UpGuard is proud to announce that security expert Chris Vickery is joining our team as a cyber risk analyst, bringing with him a stunning track record of discovering major data breaches and vulnerabilities across the digital landscape. Chris comes to us from his previous role as a digital security researcher, where among other achievements, he discovered a publicly accessible database containing the voter registration records for 93.4 million Mexican citizens, protecting more than seventy percent of the country’s population from the risk of exposure of their personal information.
With other past work including reports on the online exposure of hundreds of thousands of patient medical records, an illegal spam operation insecurely storing 1.4 billion target email addresses, and a series of unsecured MongoDB databases, Chris will now contribute his prowess in discovering and exposing major instances of cyber risk from his position with the world’s first cyber resiliency platform. “We’re excited to have Chris on board at UpGuard,” said UpGuard co-CEO Mike Baukes. “He brings a unique talent for discovering data breaches and has shown to be an effective force in progressing the conversation on cyber resilience, and ultimately, why the traditional notion of cybersecurity is dead.”
