[Vestas Wind Systems A/S](https://www.upguard.com/security-report/vestas-wind-systems), one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines, was forced to shut down its IT systems across multiple locations following a cyberattack. Details of the incident haven’t yet been publicly disclosed, but it was likely a complicated operation given that the Danish manufacturer still hasn’t recovered its systems since the attack on Friday 19 November. “As part of our crisis management setup for cyber security, we are working together with our internal and external partners to contain the issue and recover our systems.” Vestas [said in a media statement.](https://news.cision.com/vestas-wind-systems-a-s/r/vestas-impacted-by-cyber-security-incident,c3457473) This incident could disrupt Vestas’ manufacturing processes, adding further delays to a supply chain already congested by rising steel prices The essential services sector will continue to be a prime target for cyberattacks, especially when resources are bloated by supply chain disturbances.
