**MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – \[3 September, 2025]** – UpGuard, a leader in cyber risk posture management, today announced the expansion of its Breach Risk solution with **Threat Monitoring**. This new capability addresses a core challenge for lean security teams: identifying credible threats within a massive volume of external data. By intelligently triaging signals from the open, deep, and dark web, Threat Monitoring surfaces and prioritizes what matters most, providing actionable guidance so teams can remediate risks faster.

Modern security teams are inundated with data from code repositories, dark web forums, and stealer logs, but struggle to identify which signals pose a genuine risk to their organization. This challenge is particularly pronounced for lean teams that lack the resources for manual analysis, resulting in slow response times and missed threats.

“The challenge for most security teams isn't a lack of alerts; it's a lack of focus. They're forced to hunt for needles in a haystack,” said Dan Bradbury, Chief Product Officer at UpGuard. “Our AI acts as a virtual analyst, intelligently triaging thousands of signals to surface the handful of threats that truly matter. We're not just giving teams less to look at; we're giving them the right things to look at first, with clear guidance on what to do next.”

### From raw signals to prioritized threats

Threat Monitoring’s intelligence is powered by two core technologies working in tandem:

1. **Transforms:** UpGuard’s advanced, context-aware search logic goes beyond simple keywords. Transforms adapt to the unique characteristics of each source to detect exposures with higher fidelity. This is especially critical for sources like public code repositories, where Threat Monitoring detects exposed secrets, tokens, and internal documentation, closing a vital visibility gap often missed by other security tools.
2. **AI-Powered Triage:** UpGuard’s proprietary AI was trained by our in-house cybersecurity analysts, built upon a decade of frontline intelligence gleaned from the company’s acclaimed Managed Data Leaks service. This expert-trained AI assesses each finding to infer its severity and business context. It automatically prioritizes high-impact threats and provides clear, actionable remediation guidance, enabling teams to move directly from detection to resolution.

This approach was validated during an expanded Early Access Program.

> “The AI threat summary is great. It’s refreshing to read two sentences and immediately know why I should care about a finding. I can look at a critical alert, see that it’s exposed GitHub credentials from a classroom lab exercise, and move on within seconds because the context is right there.”\

### Key features of Breach Risk Threat Monitoring:

* **Comprehensive Source Coverage: **Scans high-risk sources often missed by other tools, including public code repositories like GitHub for exposed secrets and tokens.
* **Intelligent Threat Triage: **AI-powered analysis prioritizes credible threats based on severity and context, allowing teams to focus their efforts effectively**.**
* **Guided Remediation:** Delivers clear, actionable next steps for each prioritized threat, reducing investigation time and speeding up response.
* **Integrated Platform Experience:** Expands Breach Risk with Unified Workflows to Detect, Prioritize, and Respond to External Threats in a Single Platform.

### Validated through early access program

Threat Monitoring was launched in an Early Access Program with 30 initial customers, including technology, financial services, and healthcare organizations. Based on strong demand and positive outcomes, the program was expanded to 50 participating organizations, allowing UpGuard to refine capabilities based on real-world feedback.

Participants reported that Threat Monitoring helped them reduce manual analysis, detect emerging threats earlier, and allocate resources to real risks across their external attack surface. One customer noted, “It’s been a comfort knowing this is here… We've definitely found a few things we wouldn't have known about otherwise. So it's positive.”

### Supporting UpGuard’s Cyber Risk Posture Management vision

Breach Risk Threat Monitoring expands UpGuard’s Cyber Risk Posture Management platform by combining comprehensive external attack surface monitoring with context-aware threat intelligence. This unified approach enables cybersecurity teams to simplify operations, enhance threat visibility, and reduce risk while protecting customer trust.

“Expanding Threat Monitoring within Breach Risk aligns with our vision for Cyber Risk Posture Management. We’re helping customers move from reactive alert fatigue to proactive threat detection and response while simplifying how they manage and report on cyber risk,” said Mike Baukes, CEO, UpGuard.

### Availability

Breach Risk Threat Monitoring is now available for all Breach Risk customers, enabling cybersecurity teams to proactively detect and disrupt emerging threats while improving operational efficiency.
