From Praxair website: Praxair Healthcare Services, Inc. (Home Care Supply in New York) has notified certain clients of the theft of a company computer whose hard drive contained certain client names and other personal or health-related information. There is no evidence to date that this information has been accessed, and because the computer was physically damaged prior to being stolen, the company believes that the misuse of personal information is highly unlikely. However, because the company cannot rule out the remote possibility that the data contained on the damaged computer’s hard drive could still be accessed if it is recovered, it is notifying clients out of an abundance of caution. Praxair Healthcare Services regrets any inconvenience to clients and is cooperating with law enforcement officials to conduct a thorough investigation.
